Telemetry refers to the automated process of collecting and transmitting data from various integrated applications and systems into the Balbix platform via connectors. The purpose of telemetry is to enable real-time or near-real-time ingestion of diverse datasets, ensuring the platform has the necessary context and evidence to perform accurate analysis, risk assessments, and prioritization.

The telemetry levels can be:
Good: Full or nearly full visibility and control posture. Risk scores are highly reliable.
Partial: Moderate telemetry. Missing key signals like segmentation or vulnerability data.
Poor: Minimal visibility. Scores are heavily discounted and enrichment is prioritized.
Telemetry scores quantify the observability and deployment health of assets across an enterprise network. The scoring system evaluates multiple operational and security dimensions to show which assets need attention for better monitoring or configuration.

Asset type classification and fidelity
Software vulnerabilities present on the asset
Endpoint detection and response capabilities
Security controls implemented
Network zone classification
Software bill of materials information
Business impact and criticality tags
Asset ownership information
Assigned operational role
Physical or logical site assignment
Geographic or network location data
Backup status and configuration
