Introduction
Tiering enables organizations to classify third parties based on their business criticality, inherent risk, and other custom attributes. By assigning vendors to predefined tiers, organizations can automatically apply the appropriate due diligence questionnaires and assessments.
SAFE supports up to six tiers:
Five customizable tiers that can be renamed to match your organization's vendor classification framework (for example, Critical, High, Medium, Low, Strategic).
You can also add one additional tier based on your business requirments.
Define Tiers
Administrators can customize each tier by modifying:
Tier Name – Define a business-friendly name for the tier.
Tier Description – Provide a description explaining the purpose or criteria of the tier.
Click the three-dot options menu and select the edit option to update the name and description.
Note
Third parties are assigned to tiers automatically using Workflows. SAFE provides out-of-the-box workflow templates that classify vendors based on predefined conditions. Organizations can also create custom workflows to implement their own tiering logic based on business requirements.
