This document provides the step-by-step procedure to onboard the SAP Hana Database 2.0 in SAFE.

Important
Currently SAFE supports the TCP/IP connection type. Users can onboard an SAP Hana Database 2.0 using the username, password, host IP, and port number.

Prerequisites


The SAP user must have at least CATALOG READ privilege to run the SAFE assessment.

  • Use the below command to create a user
    CREATE USER <USER> PASSWORD <PASSWORD>
  • Use the below command to grant CATALOG READ privilege to the user.
    grant CATALOG READ to <USER>

Assessment of the SAP Hana Database 2.0 in SAFE requires credentials that have session privilege (to be able to connect to the database). 

The assessment controls fetch data from the following Tables/Views using the SELECT query.

  • M_INIFILE_CONTENTS System View
  • EFFECTIVE_PRIVILEGE_GRANTEES System View
  • GRANTED_ROLES System View
  • M_ENCRYPTION_OVERVIEW System View
  • AUDIT_POLICIES System View
  • GRANTED_ROLES System View

Onboard SAP Hana Database


Follow the below step-by-step instruction to onboard an SAP Hana database in SAFE:

  1. Navigate to Manage Assets from the left navigation.
  2. Click the Add Asset button available for the Databases technology vertical.
  3. On the Add Database page, select the Asset Type as "SAP Hana Database 2.0" from the drop-down.
  4. Enter the Asset Name, Username, Password, Host IP, and Port number.
    Note: Username, Password, Host IP, and Port Number are mandatory fields to establish the connection to SAP Hana Database.
  5. Enter the Asset Location, Asset Owner, and other mandatory fields.
  6. Click the Submit button. The asset will be added in SAFE.
