This document provides the step-by-step procedure to configure Datadog in SAFE.

## Introduction

SAFE integrates with Datadog, and fetches the security misconfiguration of the Datadog account in SAFE.

## Prerequisites

---

- Access required in **SAFE**:
  - SAFE Admin Access
- Access required in **Datadog**:
  - Datadog Admin Access
- Access required in **Datadog**:
  - Datadog User Custom Access
    - User Access Manage
    - Org Management
    - User APP Keys
    - Org App Keys Read
    - API Keys Read
    - Dashboards Read
    - Audit Trail Read
- Required User Inputs
  - API URL (Region Specific)
  - Organization Name
  - API Key
  - Application Key

## Generate Connection Details

### Generate an **API Key**

**Steps:**

---

- Login to your Datadog account as Admin.
- Click on the **User Profile** in the bottom left corner.
- Click on**Organization Settings.**

- Click the **API Keys**option under Access.
- Click the **New Key**button.

- Enter a **Name** and click on the **Create Key** button.

- The system displays an **API Key**. Copy and save the Key to use it later while configuring the Datadog in SAFE.

### Generate an **Application Key**

**Steps:**

- Login to your Datadog account as Admin.
- Click on the **User Profile** in the bottom left corner.

- Click on the**Organization Settings**.
- Click on the **Application Keys**option under Access.
- Click the **New Key**button.

- Enter a **Name** and click on the **Create Key** button.

The system displays an **Application Key**. Copy and save the Key to use it later while configuring Datadog in SAFE.

> It's important to regularly update the Application Key in SAFE according to its expiration date.

### Obtain **API URL (Region Specific)**

Steps:

---

- Access the Datadog Instance, and capture the URL, for more information refer to FAQs.
- **Copy** and **save** the *API URL* to use it while configuring Datadog in SAFE.

### Generate **Organization Name**

**Steps:**

- Login to your Datadog account as Admin.
- Click on the **User Profile** in the bottom left corner.

- Click on the**Organization Settings**
- The system displays an **Organization Name**in the top right corner. **Copy** and **save** the *Organization Name* to use it later while configuring Datadog in SAFE.

## Configure Datadog in SAFE

Steps:

---

- Log in to your SAFE account as **Admin**.
- Click on the **Integrations**option from the left navigation.
- Scroll to find the Datadog integration card or search for Datadog in the search bar.

- Hover over the **Datadog** integration card and click on the **Configure** button.
- Enter the****following:
  - API URL
  - Organization Name
  - API Key
  - Application Key
- Enter the **Auto Sync Frequency**.

- Click on the **Test Connection** button.
- Once the connection is successful, click on the **Save** button.
- Once the configuration is saved successfully, click on the **Sync** **Now** button to trigger an on-demand sync.
- Upon a successful sync, the system pulls the Datadog assets and their findings in SAFE. You can track the status of the sync in the **History** table.

## View Results

Steps:

---

- Go to the integration homepage
- Scroll to find the Datadog integration card or search for Datadog in the search bar.
- Click on the Datadog integration card for **Finding View** and **Asset View**.
  - **Finding View:** This tab displays all the findings details pulled from Datadog.
