The **Balbix integration with Tenable Security Center** ingests infrastructure assets and associated vulnerabilities discovered by Tenable Security Center. Balbix leverages AI to aggregate, normalize, and deduplicate ingested data, along with information integrated from your existing IT and cybersecurity tools. This creates a unified view of your entire asset inventory, including vulnerabilities and their business and operational context. Balbix’s AI models then analyze this data to provide insights such as deployment gap analysis, risk-based vulnerability prioritization (with detailed ranking and scoring), and risk quantification. This process delivers a comprehensive assessment of risk, whether for a single asset, groups of assets, or your entire enterprise, enabling more informed and effective security decisions. ## Integration Summary This table provides a summary of the Balbix integration for the Tenable Security Center connector. | **Integration Type** | Fetch: An inbound API integration used to fetch IT infrastructure assets, OS information, and associated vulnerabilities. | | --- | --- | | **Types of Assets Fetched** | Host devices including servers, virtual machines, desktops, laptops. | | **Types of Data Fetched** | Asset names, hardware information, interface information (MAC address, IP address), OS information, software information, custom vulnerabilities information, timestamps (e.g., custom vulnerabilities first observed at, custom vulnerabilities last observed at), custom vulnerabilities details, custom vulnerabilities description. | ## Prerequisites To configure the Balbix connector, you must first create Tenable Security API credentials with the appropriate permissions. These credentials are required for completing the configuration process. Log in to the Tenable Security Center Plus portal with admin credentials to complete the following steps: 1. **Add User**: Start by adding a user and assigning a role to generate an API key. 2. **Create an API Key**: Generate the required API keys to authenticate the app with Balbix. 3. Optional: **Get the Repository ID:** Get the repository ID to use as an optional step for configuring the connector. ### **Add User** To add a user in the Tenable Security Plus dashboard: 1. Click **Users > Users** 2. On the Users page, click **Add** to view the Add User window. 3. Select **Security Manager** in the **Role** drop-down menu. 4. Select an **Organization**. 5. Enter a first name and last name (optional). 6. Provide a username and password for the user. 7. Select a time zone. 8. Click **Submit**. ### **Create an API Key** To generate an API key from the Tenable Security Plus dashboard: 1. On the Users page, select the checkbox next to the user for whom you want to generate an API key. 2. Click **API key > Generate Key**. 3. Click **Generate** in the confirmation window to view the API Key and API Secret. 4. Copy the API key and secret and and securely save them for later use when setting up the Tenable Security Center connector in Balbix. > [!WARNING] > **Caution:** Be sure to copy and save the API secret—it will no longer be visible after you leave the page. ### **Get a Repository ID** To locate the repository ID in the Tenable Security Plus dashboard: 1. Click **Repositories > Repositories** to view the Repositories page. 2. To find a specific Repository ID, select the checkbox next to the repository and click **View**. This will open the **View Repository** page. 3. On the View Repository page, locate the ID and make note of it.
