Subnet Management Overview
Subnet Management provides administrators with an efficient way to view, filter, manage, and update subnets defined within the Balbix platform.
Within Balbix, sites can be associated with specific subnets through site-subnet mapping. Once configured, assets are automatically linked to the appropriate site based on their IP addresses. This enables users to manage, report on, and track assets by both subnet and site, providing clearer visibility into network organization and related inventory.
Subnet Discovery and Configuration
Subnets can be:
Configured manually using the site-subnet mapping feature, or
Discovered automatically by Balbix through Network Analyzer and Traffic Analyzer sensors.
Bulk Upload
To upload multiple site-subnet mappings in bulk, refer to the Balbix Subnet Connector Guide for step-by-step instructions on ingesting this data using the Balbix connector framework.
Add an Individual Subnet
To manually add a single subnet using Subnet Management, follow the instructions below.
Subnet IP, Subnet Mask, and Site Name are mandatory fields.
